The WTA are aiming to provide a comprehensive coaching education programme from Junior and Grassroots through to Elite and International levels. We are aware that our coaches come from all walks of life and are seeking to enjoy the benefits of being part of a greater coaching community. This site will provide a link to that community.

Coaches play a vital role in developing athletes through sport. They are key in providing athletes with the skills and knowledge needed to develop, improve and succeed in their chosen sport. Coaches also have a major influence over participants' enjoyment of sport.

The WTA are keep to encourage, support and develop anyone seeking to become a Touch coach whether it be at a grass roots, junior level through to the representative and elite levels.

The WTA are currently following the well-established and world recognised Australia (ATA) Coaching accreditation pathway for their coach development. The process is competency-based and follows a formal course syllabus at every level, which is observable and measurable.

The WTA are responsible for organising coaching courses in Wales, in conjunction with the ATA and hold a database of qualified coaches nationwide. Coach Development is currently the responsibility the WTA’s Development Director.
