Turbo Touch launches in Wales

Turbo Touch has been launched in Wales with the first ever competition taking place at Glan y Môr School, Carmarthenshire.

The tournament, organised by 5×60, was the first of its kind for Carmarthenshire and  Wales with 11 teams of 6 players from Glan y Mor’s year 7 contesting the cup.

The standard of play was very high, with fantastic skills on display, especially considering that the tournament was the first time any of the pupils had seen or heard of Turbo Touch!

The game is very new and was only developed in New Zealand in 2009.  It was created by Touch New Zealand in order to allow people to play indoors all year round, whatever the weather.  Turbo Touch is highly popular throughout the country with adults as well as school pupils.  The WTA are currently working on the details of this years Turbo Touch events and will keep you all posted.

Since the day was so successful, further tournaments are planned, as well as lunchtime and after school clubs for those that wish to carry on playing the game.
