WalesTouch Series (WTS)

The WTA are pleased to announce that the WTS will run again in 2011, with a revised format.

The WTS is a group of Touch tournaments running throughout the summer months at various locations in Wales. Individual events are run by WTA affiliated organisers and combined to form a co-ordinated series of events. The idea is for local teams to compete against the best Touch sides from Wales and beyond across 3 events.

The WTS is primarily a Mixed Touch event which aims to provide a bridge between local leagues and international Touch, exposing players and referees to a higher level of competition and aid the development of the sport in Wales. There is capacity to run additional Male and Female competitions at individual events where demand exists.

Each event will provide a tournament winner with cup, plate and bowl tournaments held depending on demand. In addition teams will be awarded points depending on their final placing at each WTS event. These points are combined into a League table which will result in an overall WTS winner at the end of the series, rewarding teams for attending as many events as possible, not necessarily winning every one. A team can enter as many WTS events as they wish and are not compelled to play in all 3 events.

Details of 2011 WTS events are to follow.

July 2011 - South Gower

August 2011 – Pendine

September 2011 - Cardiff
